PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Hamburg Township Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to consider the 2020 Hamburg Township Master Plan and the Update to the 2011 Village Center Master Plan on July 15, 2020. The interested agencies were provided the Draft 2020 Hamburg Township Master Plan for review on April 15, 2020 and were given 63 days to provide comments. The Master Plan is a comprehensive document, long-range in its view, and includes specific goals, objectives, and public policy recommendations regarding land use and future growth. Per the Michigan Planning Enabling Act (Public Act 33 of 2008, as amended), the plan is intended to serve as a guide for future Township decision-making related to land use, community development, and capital improvement projects.

PRE-DRAFT REVIEW GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES MEETING

The Hamburg Township Planning Department and the 20/20 Master Plan Steering Committee held this meeting to specifically gather comments from governmental and quasi-governmental agency on the Township’s draft 20/20 Master Plan update prior to the final draft being completed. This meeting and emails received from the agencies after this meeting allowed the Township an additional opportunity to hear and consider comments, answer questions, and consider proposed changes to the draft plan before the draft plan’s review by the Planning Commission and Township Board and before the public distribution of the plan per the Michigan Planning Enabling Act (Section 125.3841).

FINAL PUBLIC OUTREACH EVENT

The 20|20 Master Plan Steering Committee and the Hamburg Township Planning Department hosted an Ice Cream Social and Public Outreach Open House for one last opportunity to to obtain public input in the creation of the document that will guide the development of Township for the next 10 to 20 years. The event started with a brief overview of the Township Master Plan update process. Then, proceeded into two activities for Township affiliates to collaborate on what they would like to see and where based on maps of the Township as a whole and Hamburg Village Center.

Thanks to all those attended, your input will be used in the creation of the updated 2020 Master Plan.​

HAMBURG FUN FEST
Hamburg Township would like to thank H.E.R.O for another successful Hamburg Township Family Fun Fest and for allowing us the opportunity to have a booth at this event!
I hope everyone had an opportunity to visit the Hamburg Township 2020 Master Plan Update booth at the Hamburg Township Family Fun Fest this weekend. This event was a great kickoff to summer and to the start of the public outreach portion of the 2020 Master Plan Update. Planning and Zoning Staff and Master Plan Steering Committee Members had a great time meeting and talking with people about the future of Hamburg Township. Don’t worry if you did not have a chance to stop by the booth this weekend, there will be other opportunities this summer to get you opinions heard.
